You're all so very awesome, folks! It's still so much time till the contest ends and I already can't decide. O.O - Fortunately I'm not the onlyone who will decide on the winners - know what? I'm glad. You're all too gorgeous to be true!

BLAZE’S TIME-MACHINE

No other animal has influenced our life in history as much as the horse did. I don’t say this ‘cause I love horses, no. Even Wikipedia states this undeniable fact:

“Horses have long been among the most economically important domesticated animals, especially relied upon for farmwork and for transportation for centuries; however their importance declined with the introduction of mechanization. The history of the horse is prominent in religion, mythology, art, transportation, agriculture, and warfare.“

Looking through your history-books (I know some of you might hate them ), you’ll spot drawings, photos and copperplate engravings of horses on nearly every page. They’ve been a part of human’s life for so very long and their honour should never be forgotten.

So here’s what I want you to do:
Blaze stumbles across a time-machine and travels to a (maybe) far-off place in a (maybe) far-off time. You can – of course! – bring your own fursona or beloved own character with him to let them join an adventure in a chapter of history you for yourself love or think it’s interesting. Here are some inputs you could use:

ANCIENT WORLD
~ The celtic world (Stonehenge, druids, myths and legends of great heroes like Cúchulainn)
~ Egypt (pyramids, Alexandria, Cleopatra)
~ Greece (Olympic Games, Troy, Hercules, pantheon)
~ Roman Empire (Julius Caesar, Rome, Bello Gallico)

MIDDLE AGES
~ Mythological world: Merlin, King Arthur, etc.
~ Vikings
~ Knights and tournaments
~ Crusades
~ Mongolian Invasion
~ Great Kings and conquests
~ Great Heroes such as William Wallace, Robin Hood, ...

RENAISSANCE / ABSOLUTISM
(15th – 19th Century)

~ Columbus discovers the New World
~ Leonardo da Vinci and other great artists and scientists
~ Galileo and other scientists who changed our world
~ Witch-hunts
~ Louis XIII and Louis XIV of France & Musketeers
~ First settlers in the New World
~ Cowboys and Indians, farm-life
~ Industrial period (mining)


These are rather serious ideas. You don't have to do these, you can do something rather funny and weird as well, as long as you still refer to time-travel (you can send Blaze and his companion into the future as well, of course).
All medias are accepted. You can draw your idea, you can do a photomanipulation – whatever floats your boat, just be creative!
Coloured linearts from other artists are NOT accepted. I don't ask you for perfect looks - but I ask you to do this on your own. It's not only the drawing-skill that matters - it's what YOU for yourself put into the picture. Your ideas, your creativity, your personal message (if you want to include one, this topic leaves lots of space for them).

ADDITIONAL NOTES: After some people already asked me, YES, you can send in more than just one entry, but be aware that the pictures will be judged individually.

My Dad and a close friend who's a professional designer will be part of the jury.

~ A full-coloured picture of 2 characters of your choice with detailed background

2nd place:
~ A full-coloured picture of one of your characters with detailed background

3rd place:
~ A full-coloured picture of one of your characters with simple background

The most creative idea (won't be judged by drawing-skills):
~ A 3-months-subscription + a 1-month-feature in my journal of four selected works (the artist themself can chose their favourite pictures, of course!)

Viewer's Choice:
Up to three winners in this category - you can chose between...:
~ a coloured character of yours without background (might be used as Ref- or Colouring-Sheet)
~ or a 1-month-subscription
+ a 2-weeks-feature in my journal of two selected works (the artist themself can chose their favourite pictures, of course!)
